~ A Micro Label With a Global Vision
Brain-Warped Records is an independent micro label operating within the wider Brainwave Media ecosystem.
At present, the label represents its founding artist, Shea D. Brainwaves. The roster is currently small, but the infrastructure surrounding it is already being built with long-term intention through music production, visual media, branding, promotion, artist development, radio programming, collaborative creation, and international audience-building.
Brain-Warped Records is not being built to remain small.
It is being built carefully.
The long-term vision is to grow into a trusted independent label capable of representing artists directly, developing emerging talent, collaborating fluently with established labels and management teams, and helping independent artists strengthen their work until larger opportunities begin paying attention.
We are honest about where we are today, ambitious about where we are going, and committed to earning that growth through visible work rather than inflated promises.
Built to Contribute, Not Extract
Brain-Warped Records is built around contribution rather than control.
We are not interested in collecting artists simply to expand a roster, absorbing creative identities into a company image, or acquiring ownership for the sake of owning more material.
Our purpose is to bring something useful into every relationship.
Depending on the artist and the project, that contribution may include songwriting and production collaboration, visual branding, cover artwork, animation, promotional media, catalogue presentation, release planning, artist profiles, audience development, strategic support, or access to the wider Brainwave Media creative network.
At this stage, our primary investment is not a traditional cash advance. It is time, creative infrastructure, collaborative effort, promotion, presentation, and the ability to help artists build a stronger public identity around their work.
As an artist grows, Brain-Warped Records grows through shared reputation, stronger catalogues, broader reach, and the creative history built together.
A Label, a Launch Platform, and a Creative Bridge
Brain-Warped Records may serve different artists in different ways.
For some, it may become a long-term creative home.
For others, it may function as a development platform, promotional engine, collaborative partner, or stepping stone toward a larger label, manager, publisher, distributor, or industry opportunity.
We do not view an artist’s growth beyond our current resources as betrayal.
Should a legitimate opportunity arise that can take an artist further, Brain-Warped Records will not stand between that artist and their future. We are open to cooperating with the incoming team, supporting the transition where appropriate, and handling any existing responsibilities openly and professionally.
Success is not measured only by how long an artist remains connected to Brain-Warped Records.
It is also measured by how much stronger they become while working with us.
Flexible Relationships With Professional Clarity
Brain-Warped Records is designed around flexibility, communication, and artist control.
Relationships should continue because the people involved still believe in the work and in one another, not because someone has been trapped inside an arrangement that no longer serves them.
We do not intend to rely on restrictive long-term agreements simply to preserve the appearance of a large roster. Where specific releases, permissions, revenue, ownership, licensing, or responsibilities are involved, those details can be documented clearly on a project-by-project basis.
The purpose of written agreements is clarity, not captivity.
Artists should understand what is being offered, what remains theirs, what Brain-Warped Records is contributing, and what responsibilities exist on both sides.
Cooperation Across the Industry
B.W. Records intends to work fluently with independent artists, established labels, managers, publishers, distributors, producers, promoters, and other creative organizations.
We are not interested in creating unnecessary territorial conflict around artists.
Existing professional relationships will be respected. Where Brain-Warped can contribute production, visuals, promotion, radio exposure, creative direction, or strategic support without disrupting an artist’s current team, we are open to finding a responsible way to work together.
Direct representation is not the only form meaningful collaboration can take.
Brain-Warped Records may represent artists as the roster grows. It may also work alongside artists who are already represented elsewhere, contribute to selected projects, or help strengthen an independent artist’s catalogue and public presentation until larger opportunities become possible.
The role should be shaped by what genuinely serves the artist and the work.
A Curated Standard
We do not add artists simply to increase the size of the roster, and we do not pursue partnerships solely because another person or organization carries an established name.
Every artist, project, label, manager, and collaborator must bring something real to the table.
That standard is not based only on popularity, follower counts, budgets, or industry status. We look for originality, intention, artistic identity, integrity, commitment to the work, clear communication, and a willingness to participate in an honest and mutually valuable relationship.
The same thread connecting the Shea D. Brainwaves catalogue also runs through Brain-Warped Records, Resonance Radio, and the wider Brainwave
Media infrastructure:
The work must carry purpose, character, and something worth amplifying.
BW. Records is here to help elevate artists, but elevation begins with something genuine to build upon.
Standards, Boundaries, and Mutual Value
Artist-first does not mean standards-free.
BW. Records is supportive, generous, and collaborative, but we are not passive participants in our own business.
We will protect our time, creative resources, reputation, intellectual property, and the integrity of the wider Brainwave Media platform. We are not interested in one-sided arrangements, careless partnerships, inflated promises, hidden motives, or relationships built around extraction.
Artists, labels, managers, and collaborators are expected to respect the work, the people behind it, and the responsibilities attached to the opportunity.
We will listen, adapt, cooperate, and help create momentum.
We will also establish clear boundaries and expect mutual effort.
Brain-Warped Records is flexible, but not directionless. Open, but not indiscriminate. Supportive, but never a pushover.
Relationship With Resonance Radio
Resonance Radio and Brain-Warped Records share creative infrastructure through Brainwave Media, but they serve separate purposes.
Resonance Radio is an editorial discovery and promotional platform featuring artists across labels, management structures, countries, genres, career levels, and production methods.
Participation in Resonance Radio does not require Brain-Warped Records affiliation, create a label relationship, transfer ownership, interfere with existing representation, or function as quiet recruitment.
Artists are selected for Resonance Radio because their music fits the programming, carries artistic value, and contributes meaningfully to the purpose of the station.
Brain-Warped Records artists may receive clearly identified label-related features, but affiliation does not purchase access to the wider station schedule.
The separation matters.
Resonance Radio exists to recognize and amplify artists. Brain-Warped Records exists to develop, represent, and collaborate where the relationship makes sense.
Built to Grow Without Losing the Point
Brain-Warped Records has no intention of presenting itself as larger than it currently is.
It is a micro label with one represented artist, developing infrastructure, and a growing creative network.
It is also ambitious.
The systems already being built are designed to support a larger future: a stronger roster, deeper industry relationships, wider creative capabilities, international reach, and a reputation for trustworthy collaboration.
The goal is not to become harmless, invisible, or permanently small.
The goal is to grow without becoming predatory.
Brain-Warped Records intends to become a label that artists trust, a partner that other labels can work with, and a launch platform capable of helping meaningful work reach the level where larger opportunities begin paying attention.
We are not here to stand between artists and opportunity.
We are here to contribute, cooperate, elevate, and build momentum.
Small roster. Serious infrastructure. Larger vision. 🐶
